The Technology – ICE, the Intelligent Color Engine
In the past decades there have been significant technological advancements in every aspect of the print manufacturing process except one, the CMYK separation algorithm. The CMYK separation, upon which process color manufacturing is based, has remained fundamentally unchanged, until ICE – the Intelligent Color Engine.
The ICE technology at the core of ICEit! was developed using a revolutionary, patent pending, mathematical model based on the most recent research in color science and the physics at work within the print process.
ICEit! uses the ICE engine to replace the existing CMYK separation methodology in Photoshop, working with the L*a*b* color data of the RGB image, optimizing the appearance of the image and preserving more of the original color intent. The premise behind ICEit! is simple; Capture more Color – start with a better RGB to CMYK color separation.
