The Technology – ICE, the Intelligent Color Engine

In the past few decades there have been significant technological advancements in every aspect of the print manufacturing process except one, the CMYK separation algorithm. The CMYK separation, upon which process color manufacturing is based, has remained fundamentally unchanged, until ICE – the Intelligent Color Engine.

ICE technology was developed using a revolutionary, patent pending, mathematical model based on the most recent research in color science and the physics at work within the print process. ICE technology is designed to replace existing CMYK separation methodology which is based on a decades old photomechanical technique that holds little relevance to today’s print processes. Our industry’s color management strategies are all based on this methodology. The premise behind ICE technology is simple; start the color reproduction process with a better color separation.
